Arlington Superintendent Apologizes For Acting Slow On Lewdness Incident

PLEASANT VALLEY, N.Y. -- Arlington Central School District Superintendent Brendan Lyons has apologized for acting too slow in a recent incident of lewdness at West Road Intermediate School, according to Poughkeepsie Journal.

As previously reported by Daily Voice, Dennis T. Dougherty, 61, of Poughkeepsie was arrested for allegedly urinating on school grounds.

Lyons said staff took appropriate actions to maintain student safety, but apologized for not communicating with parents in a timely manner, Poughkeepsie Journal said. 

The district sent letters home to parents on Monday, May 16 in regards to the May 11 incident, reported Poughkeepsie Journal.
